A line of slope -3 contains the points A= (2,5) B= (4, k) What is the value of k?

Slope = -3

y2 = k
y1 = 5
x2 = 4
x1 = 2

Slope =  y2- y1 / x2- x1
   -3    = k-5 / 4-2
   -3    = k-5 / 2
   k-5  =  -3 * 2 = -6
     k   =  -6+ 5
     k   =  -1

Therefore, the value of k is -1 .
