First equation:  3x+4y-12=0.  Solving for 4y, we get 4y = -3x + 12, from which

                                          y = (-3/4)x - 3.  The slope is -3/4 and the y-int. is -3.

Second equation:  2x + y = 1.  y = -2x + 1.  The slope is -2 and the y-int. is 1.
