Hello!

[tex]\large\boxed{x = -2}[/tex]

3(x + 4) = 6

Distribute the terms inside of the parenthesis with the coefficient outside:

3(x) + 3(4) = 6

Simplify:

3x + 12 = 6

Subtract 12 from both sides:

3x + 12 - 12 = 6 - 12

3x = -6

Divide both sides by 3:

3x/3 = -6/3

x = -2
