The description of covalent bonding in a water molecule can be found below:
WHAT IS COVALENT BOND:
Covalent bond is a type of bond that occurs when two atoms share electrons. A typical demonstration of covalent bonding can be found in water molecule (H2O).
In a water molecule, there are two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. The oxygen atom shares one electrons each with the two hydrogen atoms.
However, because oxygen and hydrogen atoms attract the sharedelectrons unequally (oxygen pull more electrons toward itself), each atoms possess different and opposite charges, making it a POLAR covalent bond.
