What was the sequence of events that led to the liberation of Spanish South America?

The Napoleon’s invasion of Spain was possibly the most important event because with the Spanish resources was first occupied with fighting and later in the hands of Napoleon’s brother and since then Spanish South America met far less resistance to their wars for independence.
